Synapse
There are actually three distinct network devices in this stack, but as they all sit together, i have decided to document them as one unit. The device standing upright on the left is my NAS device, which hosts my FTP server. It is also the only device with any real storage space in it, comprising of a single 160Gb drive. The device underneath the other two is my core router which is the actual unit which has the hostname 'synapse', and firewalls my external network (the server) from my internal network (the laptops and desktop). The bland and boring looking device on the top is my ISP's cable modem, without which you would be unable to see any of these pages.
